Weight Loss by Walking
The Biggest Loser's hunky champ, Matt Hoover uses walking to burn off calories. Walking is one of the easiest workouts to fit in your schedule. You can do it anywhere (say at work, during your lunch hour). You can do it anytime (say at midnight, if you missed your evening spin class). And even though sneakers and sweatpants help, you don't even need workout clothes. Matt's conclusion? There's no excuse not to walk. "If I could tell everybody just one thing, I'd say: Walk and close your mouth." Putting the health benefits aside, walking also helped him win the heart of fellow contestant Suzy Preston. "I think about my relationship," he says. "What better thing can you do for your relationship than go for a walk and talk to each other for a whole hour straight? Set that time aside for both of you to go for a walk, and talk and walk at a moderate pace to get the exercise benefits. I'm amazed that it took me this long to figure it out." Other BLC members say that walking gives them much needed "alone time" to think things over. So walk your way to inner (and outer) happiness!
